In the meeting windows, click the arrow-up icon to the right of the Mute button and choose your preferred microphone in the Select a Microphone section. Do your coworkers often ask that you speak a little louder during Zoom meetings? Next, click Device properties and test microphone to enter the device settings page. If the volume slider is greyed out, uncheck the Automatically adjust microphone volume option.

On the left sidebar, click Microphone and make sure Zoom or zoom. Zoom—like every other Windows app—may malfunction due to temporary glitches with the app or your computer.
Should the problem continue when you relaunch Zoom, try restarting your computer. Windows has a built-in tool that helps to diagnose and fix problems with microphones connected to your computer. If you have more than one microphone connected to your computer, select the problematic device, and click Next to proceed.
Finally, make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed on your computer. Zoom often rolls out updates that patch bugs and fix issues such as microphone failures.
To update Zoom, click the Profile icon at the top-right corner and select Check for Updates from the menu. If an updated version of the app is available, click the Update button to install it on your computer. Hopefully, this helps to fix the Zoom microphone not working issue. Besides the tips listed above, we also recommend updating the microphone driver of your Windows computer. Some external headphones and microphones have their individual drivers; make sure those are also updated.
Things can go south with Zoom pretty quickly, especially when you least expect it.

I have checked the mic with all the other apps, all the other tests on Mic I have done, but I just cant seem to make the mic work in Zoom meetings.

The post also has other solutions which worked for users reporting about the same issue. IF the response and links from A. User and Viney do not already help If it does not, however, and your computer shows all other apps, I would try re-installing Zoom.
Since you said the mic works if you connect the external, perhaps work with that? Are your speakers external? You might have to re-insert them and select them as primary. In reply to hemangshukla's post on May 10, Frank Mulligan from NJ. The microphone stopped working on my daughter's reasonably new HP laptop in Zoom only. I checked the privacy settings and it's enabled. The microphone seems to work everywhere else except Zoom. I went into the Zoom settings, chose the proper microphone, tested it, and it did not work.
